Cherubino City Cellar – Subiaco
One of my all-time favourite places for a date. In the heart of Subiaco is a sophisticated, charming wine bar and Cellar offering an extensive range of options. Book in for a wine tasting where you and your date can get to know each other without the pressure of forced conversation. Enjoy the suburb menu of shared plates, and cheeses and be taken care of by the can-do attitude of the Cherubino Team. Look out for their wine and cheese tastings and keep eye out for their special events.
Mrs Browns – North Fremantle
Mrs Brown is an intimate bar in the heart of the North Fremantle village. Whether by the open fire in winter or in the summer sun in their courtyard it’s the perfect place for date. With an extensive wine list, and knowledgeable, friendly staff they also offer cocktails, and revolving tap beers. Everybody is welcome at Mrs Browns.
Besk – Leederville
If you like a more substantial menu and lots of energy Besk is hard to go by. It’s a spacious warehouse style wine bar come restaurant, pub and bottle shop. Open 7 days, its an ideal place for an early to mid week date. You can choose to sit in the cafe style restaurant, Besk cellar downstairs, or in the open style bar area. The food is always top notch and never ceases to please. Great for the younger crown but nobody is out of place at Besk.
Samsons Paddock – Mosman Park
I love everything about this place, perfect no matter what time of year with an open fire place and outdoor alfresco. Come for a drink and you could end up here all night. With whiskey & steak pairings, a menu to please even the fussiest eater and a perfectly put together wine list, Samsons Paddock is hard to overlook if you want a venue with heart and soul. Great for a first date you’ll fall in love with this place even if you don’t with your date.
La Madonna Nera – Mount Hawthorn
A classic contemporary neighbourhood wine bar pouring drops made from native Italian variants. A small exciting menu that changes every few weeks reflecting seasonal local produce all designed to share. This cosy little gem is never too noisy even when it’s full. Perfect lighting, unpretentious decor with a semi open kitchen makes you feel more like part of the family than a passing guest.
Mummucc – Wembley
If you love a neighbourhood wine bar you must get to Mummucc. The team here have created the perfect blend of everything a wine bar should be. Mummucc has earned its reputation for authentic Italian goodness. Vibrant causal atmosphere which spills out onto the sidewalk. You can smell the wood fire pizza from their sister restaurant Monsterella two doors down. Be sure to make a booking, this 60 seat venue is always busy.
